Quotes

[Looking at slide of corpse]

Scully: Two time loser looking at life.

Mulder: I have the same pair of pants. Who exterminated him?

Detective Pennock: That's a subject of some debate.

Scully: The killer carved a single C-shaped cut up through the right kidney. Fatal blood loss came in under 30 seconds.

Mulder: I'm going to assume the killer knew what he was doing, and that C wasn't one of his initials?

Detective Pennock: Your assumptions are correct. Only the killer isn't a he.

Mulder: So what, you think that uh... she caught Little Monster trying to snatch the pebble from her hand?

Detective Pennock: Nothing else makes sense.

Mulder: Including how a blind girl could get the drop on an ex-con and bleed him out with surgical precision.

Marty Glenn: Oh. It's you.

Detective Pennock: See what I mean? [Thinking that she's psychic]

Marty Glenn: It's not magic. It's your crappy cologne. Who's that with you?

Mulder: Special Agent Mulder.

Marty Glenn: And the lady?

Scully: Special Agent Scully. We'd like to ask you some questions.

Marty Glenn: You must be having trouble with your case, Detective.

Marty Glenn: What are you staring at?

Mulder: An innocent woman. I hope?

Scully: What were you doing there Marty?

Marty Glenn: Putting mints... on the pillows.

Marty Glenn: You know what the problem is? You've got no murder weapon. And I bet that's driving Stinky back there crazy. Isn't it, Stinky? Why is he hiding? It's not like I can see him. You know what I did with it, Detective? I fed it to my seeing eye dog.

Mulder: I'm curious, Marty...

Marty Glenn: Yeah? What about?

Mulder: If you didn't kill him, why you were at the crime scene cleaning up? And doing such a piss poor job of it...? Why don't we just stop playing games here, okay? I mean... you probably don't know a feather duster from a duck's ass do you? I mean... it's ridiculous, you're a blind woman for God's sake. So why don't you just tell us who did kill Paco Ordonez and Agent Scully and I can go arrest him. And you can go home and work on your angry young blind girl comedy routine. Or we can just stay here and entertain each other for the next 48 hours... [Mulder pours a glass of water, that Marty Glenn slaps away]

Marty Glenn: Go to hell.

Mulder: No, I think she just wants us to think that she's strong, independent. It's important to her.

Detective Pennock: She wants us to know she did it.

Mulder: I don't think she did do it.

Mulder: [on mobile phone] She passed on every question except one — Did she see the murder?

Scully: Would you like me to remind you why polygraphs are inadmissible in court?

Mulder: No... she cracked, Scully. She was lying, I'm sure of it.

Scully: Well maybe she was, Mulder, but don't make me state the obvious — she didn't see anything.

Mulder: Not with her eyes...

Scully: Well how else did she see? Bat-vision?

Mulder: I don't know.

Scully: Well Mulder, when you figure it out, give me a call.

Marty Glenn: You know, I'm sure the ACLU is going to be very interested in how you violated a blind woman's rights... by eavesdropping on her private phone call. [Officer gives her the Bronx salute] Same to you...

[Marty Glenn is given an evidence bag with a glove in it]

Marty Glenn: Let me guess... your killer is OJ Simpson.

Marty Glenn: Are you happy, Detective?

Detective Pennock: It looks to me like it [the glove] fits...

Marty Glenn: Somewhere, Marcia Clark weeps. But you still haven't got a weapon.

Mulder: Even if the gloves do fit, you can still acquit.

Dr Wilkenson: Are you aware of any sensation at all?

Marty Glenn: [gasping] It's a miracle!

Marty Glenn: These better still be $20s.

Duty Officer: No. I replaced them with $50s since you're so damn sweet.

Detective Pennock: You know the thing I find most surprising about this case is you. You are one sceptical guy, Agent Mulder.

Mulder: Sceptical?

Detective Pennock: Oh yeah!

Mulder: I've been called a lot of things. Sceptical, however, is not one.

Detective Pennock: Yeah, whatever.

[Mulder answers mobile phone muttering to himself]

Mulder: Sceptical...

[Scully informs Mulder that the blood on the glove doesn't match Marty Glenn's, proving her innocence]

Mulder: Well, I know that, you know that, and so does whoever Marty's protecting. But Pennock is salivating right now. [Marty Glenn directed them to the location of a drug-laden briefcase]

Mulder: Well, a confession is worthless if it's a lie, and yours was a lie...

[Scully arrives at the bar where Mulder is waiting to arrest the killer]

Mulder: Just in time for the surprise party.

[Marty Glenn sees herself pulling the gun on Gotts through his eyes]

Marty Glenn: I hate the way you see me.

[Detective Pennock is cuffing Marty Glenn as Mulder and Scully arrive at her apartment]

Detective Pennock: She did this one. Trust me.

Marty Glenn: Not much to look at [the jail cell], is it? At least that's what they tell me. You were at the sentencing, Agent Mulder.

Mulder: Is it my cologne?

Marty Glenn: No... I just knew you'd be there.

Marty Glenn: I'd never seen the ocen before. And now when I close my eyes... or even when I open them... that's all I see.

Mulder: Well, you're lucky he wasn't a fan of the Ice Capades. [They both laugh]
